Tunnel Portals in Soft Soil Conditions

The Geocast System can be applied in the construction of underground tunnel portals in soft sand conditions. The System simultaneously excavates and castes two adjacent walls underground, followed by tunnel excavation and installation of temporary sand anchors. The final stage involves excavation to full tunnel depth, casting of basement slab, de-stressing of sand anchors and casting of concrete roof.
